The truth is: We are all Graduating (part 3)

This post is related to We are all Graduating and its part 2 (20240422 and 20240507)

We have marched to the tune of Pomp and Circumstance , we got our certificates, we took our bow, sang our swan song and got off the stage. The inevitable question will now haunt our waking hours:

So, what's next?

For me, it is about growing my psychology books collection and my collection on ancient mythology, archeology and some classic literature. Possibly if I am going through a semester I would have enrolled in Psychology 101 with minors on mythology and classical lit.

I am so excited about these topics lately that I forget about sleeping sometimes and even watching my netflix series. I am planning a lot of printing and binding books (of course they are downloaded from libgen, project gutenberg or open lib). So many books, so little time.

But I haven't forgotten my spirituality and my hobbies too.

This is weird but I am really excited about my 20-year research, laying the foundation, growing my literature, readings, my sources, and listing them all and reading them and making reviews about them.

I do hope that everyone will find that elusive path, the next direction after this collective 'graduation' and that it may give everyone of us the proper activities and outlets to channel our passions, commitments and energies into.

Let's grow our books and knowledge and eventually wisdom together in this new exciting chapter in our lives.

The Truth is: We are all graduating (part 2)

The feeling lately is that of never ending thesis, both the production part and the written thesis paper part.

I remember the thesis part of college was the toughest one, we must really dedicate our time, effort, creativity and intellectual endurance and actually enduring grit to face the challenges of doing our thesis. A whole semester must be allocated to finish such endeavor.

In production part of the thesis, there will be the Pre-production, production and Post-production, these will need a detailed time-table for every part.

Then in the written thesis part, there should be Pre-thesis writing (data gathering, theoretical framework, paradigm and draft of paper rationale), in thesis writing, of course the chunk of the writing will happen here and then, we have the post-thesis, bibliography, editing and checking of the paper.

All these take time!

But as my master said, time keeps passing by, affinities keep ripening.

So as time passes by, we should have markers in the moving forward of our thesis work.

We should at least have an accomplishment report for every benchmark done.

We had the past 15 to 16 years for all the data gathered, now we have to make sure that the time frame and time table are laid out clearly for us.

We have to write a thesis for the last 15-16 years of our lives.

Remember, we have to make an inventory of our lives constantly.

Time to open and unpack the box

Long silence. Yes, I know, I somehow drowned into the deep dark waters, I thought I will never float back again. Actually, I am not so sure if I have really floated back or just given a short sweet time to surface and breathe in some air then I will be pulled back down into the deep again.

The past few months, well I have no word to describe them.

*Absently staring at the screen for a long long long time,

yeah, no words. Just pure nightmare. Just pure darkness. Just stark black all around me.

However, I still try to rationalize what happened to me and what has been happening in my life lately. As my wise master would say, "Take a very careful and mindful inventory of all the things you have done in your life," in short, she means we have to deeply reflect.

Well, of course this task of taking inventory is both painful and freeing. I imagine, just like those people with PTSD, just imagine if you have to take an inventory of what you have done within a traumatizing event. The brain really wants to shut down all the unpleasant memories, those dark painful times, where you nearly lost it, where you only cry when you feel them again inside your heart, within the mind. I liken the experience to the early practice of medicine, where the surgeon will operate on the patient without anesthesia, nothing to numb the sharp pain, just really surrendering the whole body under the knife and to the skill of the doctor. Maybe we can call it faith.

But what I am trying to say is that recalling memories can be nostalgic and it can also be traumatic. How long can we hold the memories in our brain? Do we erase those unpleasant memories immediately? Do we keep the pleasant ones in our safest memory spot? Do we change our perception of those memories as we grow older? Do we edit memories? Are our memories authentic? Or it is already subjective?

The past few months have been totally difficult for me. I cannot even start recalling them because it makes me tremble. I cannot believe I survived and still surviving. And even now, most of the brain shuts down any attempt to remember the past weeks.

But still I will venture to make an inventory, but I am giving myself time to heal and time to recover some energy so I can go through the memories again and journal them one by one.

Anyways,

this weekend, as I continue my 20-year-research, I have been very fortunate to read this wonderful book by Leonard, a Jungian analyst.

In one of the chapters, I read this line that resonated with me ~ living in the past.

With all the waves of change coming one by one, sometimes two by two or sometimes all at the same time, the only way I know to protect my sanity is to continue living in the past. I was reading a very interesting topic and story under the chapter Rejected Lover, when I read this line ~ living in the past.

Not that my reflection is about being rejected by a lover, no, not at all. It is that I resonated with her sentence about living in the past because as I have mentioned in my previous posts, I have moved into a new house along with so many boxes. I failed to mention that some of those boxes were still unopened from the previous move I made from QC to another place in Dasma just before the pandemic. See, if we have to compute, there were a couple of moves already but some boxes remain unopened.

This made me think deeply. What could I have been hiding from myself since I haven't gotten the energy to open those boxes and to put them in the proper places? Then after some thinking it dawned on me, perhaps I am still living in the past, I am still preserving the past by preserving the packed unopened boxes. I am reluctant in the face of the idea that I have to roll out my packed things. Just to give you a background, I was used to moving places every 3 years or so. I was used to not unpacking since I know I will move out. I never really settled in a place. I never really put down roots. Which made me think about the situation of my life right now, it feels like I am going to stay longer in a place a little longer than I was used to. Sure, when I was a young girl, I stayed in my Dasma house from 7 years old (Grade 1) to 17 years old (4th year high school), that was a complete decade of not moving. Of course, needless to say, I moved from Makati when I turned 7, so I never really stayed in one residence for a long time.

Then from 17 or 18, I stayed in QC, then Makati, then QC again for longer time (20s to late 20s) then Cebu, then BGC then QC then back to Dasma (pandemic) haha, and now, here in my current residence.

Okay back to my train of thought, I think by unopening the boxes, I will preserve the magic of ease of moving from one place to another, however if I open the boxes then I will release the magic and I might not be able to move for a really really long time. The thought makes me scared, actually.

Sadly, things and situation and circumstances change. With a lot of deep thinking and reflection and somehow forward thinking, I feel like I have to face this fear of settling since I cannot see myself moving to another place in the near future. So, I feel that I have to slowly let go and open the boxes. Perhaps, it is time to change the items inside the box, time for new things to touch, new stuff to learn, new objects to collect or study.

Change is really terrible, but everywhere I look, it is glaring at me, time to change, time to transition, time to grow.

Time to embrace those experiences and situations we thought we never liked before.

Time to open our hearts and minds to the magic of something we have avoided for a long time, but something that is fated to be ours or fated to fall under our protection and guidance.

Time to change our perspective and embrace what we thought will never change, but still we have the passion to change it instead of just accepting it.

Time to remember the promise of courageous spirit, that it will always help us see things through.

Time to finally confront what I have been putting off for a long time.

Time to live the life we ran away from, and while at it, try to effect little change and transition.

Time to stop running away, time to turn around and embrace the life I once knew and left behind. Since I am more mature now, maybe I can learn to tolerate it or even like it.

Maybe I will give it some time. Maybe I will open my heart. Maybe I will change my mind.

But yes, time to open and unpack the box.

New Moon Blues

I feel incredibly sentimental as I look at my computer and printer. I wanted to cry.

I was 17 years old when I started college. Our computer back then was a very old model, with a second hand printer that my parents bought from a colleague. Needless to say, technology gadgets were very expensive before, not to mention my parents' meager income plus they were in the middle of sending two kids into college, perfect recipe for extreme budget cuts ~ the state of our means to acquire good gadgets were extremely low to cannot afford at all. I understood back then that money is really important in education and handling it well needs discipline if we want access to convenience and modern technology.

While in college, there were endless nights of paper works, reports and essays, on top of that I also had to travel from Dasma to QC every single day, I didn't want to remember those crazy days but they were part of my college life. Just imagine, I had 7AM class, how on earth would I strategise to get up early and travel and not be late in my class? I know, I had a choice when I was enlisting to the classes, but I needed that GE with no other available schedule, so I had to sacrifice, and oh boy, did I?!

But months went by and I learned, even mastered the commute from our house to the University. I keenly remember the first time I had to travel alone, without my mom to shadow me because she had to work and I was a mature teenager. I had to bite my tears away as I boarded the bus alone, that ride would be around an hour and a half long ~ it would take me directly to MRT where I had to spend another 30 minutes then upon leaving QAve station, I had to ride UP campus jeep, which was another 15 to 20-minute ride.

This was just the first half of the commute, I would do the same routine after class of course when it was time to go home.

Crazy commute. I know. But I learned a lot. About travelling. About life. About time. About roads.

Then back to school work. So after around 2 and a half hours of commute going back home, I would be so tired, but I had dinner waiting for me since I still lived with my parents back then. After dinner, I would start doing school work using our very old computer. I remembered later on, I had installed CD/DVD drive writer/reader, it was one of the biggest days of my college life haha! I knew exactly how expensive usb were before so I said to myself, re-write-able CD/DVD would be my tool/weapon of choice. Okay, so back to endless typing of reports, hours after hours of library research, procrastination, imagination and lutang/sabaw moments when I found out I didn't even understand a word out of the readings I was studying, finally I was able to complete an essay or a report. Unfortunately, completing these reports and documents were just the beginning of my trouble, as I had to telepathically communicate with our moody printer. That weird-o printer would not print anything at all. Seriously!

I mean when I needed to print some readings or net searches, yes it would print those pages clearly and correctly but in its very unknown secret deep within hell, it just wouldn't print my papers, my reports and my essays. I tried, oh I am really telling you I tried, I am well known to be a patient person, I employed my divine patience and still waited for the printer to print those needed documents, but apparently, it just wouldn't want to print my homework.

I spent hours crying and crying for the printer to print my document, but it wouldn't budge. We are talking about me printing my essay for 8:30AM class while I was negotiating with the damned printer to print my homework at 5AM, I still had to prepare for school and of course I still needed to commute.

Around 80% of the time, it wouldn't print anything I typed, so I ended up burning my reports/homework into re-writeable CD/DVD and I had to make time allowance bec I would go to a printshop in UP to have my reports printed, aside from of course dipping into my (travel) allowance for printing cost. I sometimes saved my reports in my email, but I don't want to pay extra for computer rental in UP, so burning documents into CD/DVD had been my norm.

So back to my sentimental mood, after more than 17 years, I have a working printer and a nice computer. Life does change. Life has a funny way of showing us that those big problems a decade or almost two decades ago were gone now.

Maybe this was what I wanted to say.

We might be sinking into troubles, problems and issues, but remember everything is possible through time. Time makes our dreams come true. Time fulfills our goals. In the right time, things eventually work out right.

It is a stormy new moon for all of us. Stay safe and dry dear readers.

Hugging you tight.

The Many Masks of Death (how dying shapes our perception and value of life)

I have been hounded by thoughts of death, dying and shadows of death lately.

You can take this sentence metaphorically or literally. Or both.

As I have been studying and reading many books and sources and listening to my spiritual teacher, I have learned that there are many forms of death: death of ideas, death of thinking cycle, death of methods of doing things, death of routine, death of one phase of life and of course there is also real, physical death ~ and in each of those deaths, we must be very aware of the correct rites of passage to bestow in each one.

Life is sacred. Death is sacred. Life is as sacred as death, death is as sacred as life.

We have different forms of celebrations and initiations when life comes to us or into a family or in a community, or when life continues from one phase to another ~ we have baptism, we have graduation, we have birthdays ~ one can partake of these rites of passage whether they are aware or not; family members, friends and acquaintances, maybe aware or not, are partaking of the communal rites of passage by just being a guest or greeting the person who is being celebrated. And in those instances of interaction, we are actually participating in the wondrous powerful magic of human-ness of togetherness, that invisible power that actually pushes us forward to face life in each various stages and phases. Though, with the modern times and its twisted way of valuing things and events and humanity, sadly that power of getting together, the magic of it, is lost in many of us. Thus, there is death of power in those magical moments because so very few of us gets to value it. And in failing to value it, the power that is supposed to help us tide over the next phase in life was never touched, was never given ample nurturing, was never 'watered' by the ever flowing purity in our world, so many of us will complain how come we don't have the energy for the next phases, we don't have the proper tools to face the challenges, we don't have the proper state of mind to figure out our situation, the cycle goes on and on, until someday maybe in their older days, some people will just be merely existing, life drained out of them. The very spark of spirit and will that life has bestowed on us, got lost in the cycle, we never truly learned to resurrect the life force within us. Hence, death happened inside of us ~ death of dream, death of optimism, death in various forms ~ death which never got a proper burial, it is like moving on in the next level, with many unfinished challenges, but never truly giving time to solving the puzzle. Many people then goes on to the next level or phase of their lives incomplete or bringing too many baggage (which were supposed to 'die' in the previous phase) or both.

This is sad. A very sad reality.

On death

There are so many blessings bestowed by death on us. It takes away what we don't need. Its way is painful, of course. Its way will never be revealed to those whose state of mind is biased to the ways of life because death has a philosophy of its own. But to fully embrace death, we must welcome it with open arms and open mind ~ to me it is a very strict teacher, always looking from the shadows, checking my every move. It is the soft velvety figure hugging the walls of my dark bedroom at night, always alert, always observing, always clockwork. Is it going to surprise you if I tell you that since I was a little girl, I know death is always near me when the sky turns dark, and even in my young mind, I know I was never alone at night. I know because death always lurks in the shadows, the space that the rays of my tiny lamp couldn't reach. I know death is a man. I had many times my mom would coax me to stop thinking over 'death' at night or talk about 'the dark shadow' at night maybe because she is afraid of what I said. It is weird I know. But I never felt alone at night because death is as dense as the dark of night.

We used to use mosquito net at night when I was a little girl and my mom would tirelessly put it on when we were about to sleep. For some reason, in my mind, death couldn't enter the mosquito net, so he will just hover on top of my mosquito net covered body at night sitting weightless on the mosquito net top, quietly as always. I know he looks at me when I sleep and I know he observes all of my sleep movements.

I am sure anybody would be scared if I tell them this secret of mine, haha, I know I am weird.

There were many nights when death is just quietly lurking, but there were also nights of terror. When that happens, I would wake up in the middle of the night and pray and stay quiet ~ somehow death or the dark shadowy figure will be appeased. But there were nights when it would become unbearable to sleep because of stirring in the dark, so I just put on some spiritual music ~ then I fall asleep again, not knowing how 'death' felt.

Anyways, I know I am weird.

However, I want to let you know my dear readers, that even in knowing death or the dark shadow figure from my childhood, it doesn't mean that I am immune to the sudden surprises or turns that death can inflict on me. Knowing death doesn't mean I am free from the terrors and pains that it can throw at me.

In my life right now, I am facing a difficult kind of 'death' ~ a death of a phase of life that I treasure a lot. It is actually a deep wound. I couldn't get around this idea thoroughly. I couldn't adjust to it yet, but dying on this phase of life is actually happening. Isn't this a very exquisite paradox ~ I am living my life yet I am dying in my phase of life. Like a stick burning on both ends.

Or maybe it is tragic.

The point is: living and dying are both inside of us, both happening at the same time.

I am not sure if I am making any sense.

But as I said, we need a proper burial in each of the stages where we 'die' ~ we call it rite of passage in life.

Death giving life value

In learning more and more about death, I could say I am overwhelmed by its own kind of philosophy. Death will use people and situation and events to rid of us of the life phases that we need to leave behind. It has a different definition of abuse, misuse of power, authority, security/insecurity polarity, and other stuff we value differently in philosophy of life.

Interesting that this kind of death philosophy is strong in some people I know, I even call them those who are living in dying ~ the masters of wielding 'death' power, those who can command 'death' of phase in life of some people around them, these people are simply 'Hades' kind. There are many of them. It becomes a second nature in them, in some instances, it is their basic nature ~ the philosophy of death and they have a very strong hold of death power over others ~ I feel a bit merciful to those who don't understand this kind of 'death' power in these kinds of people, because it really is a difficult kind of 'dark arts' only very few people can accept those kinds of 'teachings' from these Hades kinds.

Even I who pretend to know a little of bit of this dark power feel so wronged most of the time when I interact with these Hades kinds because they make me feel so helpless, weak and powerless. It takes time to understand them, only if you really genuinely want to understand them at all. It is just in my life right now, must be my blessing or curse to be around lots of Hades kinds, I feel like I have so many teachers teaching me different kinds of deaths all at the same time ~ that I feel like hey, I am living. I want life and I want to live, but I know their lessons are seriously valuable in this day and age.

Of course I get so exhausted. I wanted to run and I wanted escape. I wanted space and freedom from these lessons, but always the dark shadowy figure will fetch me (abduct me again and again) to learn and to keep on learning.

Ambivalence and accepting the natural flow of life

I know I will never be in one world, because I know that both life and death resides in me. I am forever travelling between the two worlds, that's why I always catch the shadowy figures in my gaze, no matter what time it is, morning, noon or night. Sometimes the two worlds are leaking into each other, that's one of the most emotional time of my life ~ it is like being underwater. I couldn't breathe, I just need to swim deeper and deeper until I find a solid place to rest.

Don't get me wrong, the Hades kinds' lessons I am learning are really dark ones. So dark that I know not many people will touch on these dark topics, most of them will pretend not to hear about it or just forget these kinds of darkness exist. Bless their soul, they must be living in the surface, less problems less things to think about. But mine is something of a dark lesson, I am pushed to the bottom and getting pushed down deeper, because in fact it is bottomless, dark nightmares, dark thoughts, dark ideas ~ but one is bound to study and learn them if one would like to be a healer or if one would be fated to walk upon two worlds, it is not a choice, it is imperative.

Anyways, here's to life and here's to death. May we all be given both in right amounts.

Writing Prompt: Dark Journals (or Persephone's Underworld Diary)

Dark Journals (or Persephone's Underworld Diary)

Title: Yes and then no, hot and then not

Time: Second lunar month new moon

Place: Underworld

Entry: Adventure never stops in this place, thousand leagues beneath the seafloor. I met masks, I met different personalities, I talked with at least 10 shadow selves, went into the nook and crannies of this infinite world of sorrow and grief. There were good days, but there were more bad days. Important note, one should prepare for darkest days and darkest moods, nobody knows what kind of dark he will bring to the table. One thing is for sure, it will be corrosive and destructive.

Emotion/s: Surrender

Reflection: Prepare for endless destruction when in his lair. He will boil you down into the hottest point and then with what's left of you, he will burn you until you are pulverised into ashes.

Post Script: There will be healing eventually, a mystical kind, the kind only he can give, but a word of warning, you have to survive the corrosive destruction first. Good luck.

***

Dark Journals (or Persephone's Underworld Diary)

Title: Reminiscing and trying to make some sense . . . but no

Time: Second lunar month full moon

Place: Underworld

Entry: Dreams communicate to us. It tells us a lot about our friends, acquaintances. It reminds us of our dead plans. It alerts us of how time flies and it shows us the transformation that we have been through and the remaining adjustments that we still have to go through. He has been quiet but I can feel him all the time in me, with me.

Emotion/s: Wary

Reflection: Reflection doesn't come easy in the underworld. There are a lot to filter. There are a lot to organize. There are a lot of patterns, it is not easy to read them in isolation, they must be read while intertwined with all other threads. Not an easy task.

Post Script: Roller coaster of emotions, too tiring, crying at night is the only way to ease the heartache.

***

Dark Journals (or Persephone's Underworld Diary)

Title: New home

Time: Third lunar month new moon

Place: Underworld

Entry: Even though I am down below in his lair, there are moments when I am free from his presence. One of those moments is this time when I am free to roam and just mind my own business, away from his probing eyes. I like this little pockets of time when I can be alone with my thoughts and feelings because he is not observing. Such freedom is hard earned and I plan to use it fully to organize my place and establish new boundaries.

Emotion/s: Joyful

Reflection: Why cannot we co-exist harmoniously?

Post Script: Why is freedom so fleeting?

***

Dark Journals (or Persephone's Underworld Diary)

Title: Negligible

Time: Third lunar month full moon

Place: Underworld

Entry: He's terrible. Who am I kidding? He is downright terrible. The kind that makes one so angry enough that lashing out is a very justifiable act.

All I see was red. Red. Red. Red. Then I breathed deep. Deeply. Deeper. I waited. Waited. Cried hot tears. Then I just stayed quiet.

Emotion/s: Red hot fury of anger

Reflection: I read this somewhere: principled fury

Post Script: I read somewhere that the sting of poison actually hurts the body of the stinger first before he injects it to the intended stingee.

***

PPS: It is no accident that I am just posting my journal entries now. The time I spent in the deep dark down below was too profound to be captured in words. Actually, words were not used as much as intuition, action and meaningful silence most of the time. So far in my underworld journeys, the past months were some of the darkest hours in my life. I was warned that it was just the beginning.

Small steps leading to the path

Today, let's talk about the reality of trauma and it's dark long shadow that it casts upon us. We who are still struggling as we learn everyday to walk with it, breathe with it, live with it and just trying to survive with it.

I mean I don't have the cure for it or anything, but I know how painful it is. So painful, layer by layer of pain, waves of bitterness, of holding your strength in front of trauma as it replays in your mind, of denial because of pain, of wanting to run away and escape from it ~ seemingly the only sane course to follow because who wants to be exposed to trauma 24/7?

That's why we create masks, that's why we run away, that's why we hide and why we escape, because it is the only way to keep it from overwhelming us and from totally devouring us. We create an escape universe, we create a different world where we can exist devoid of the fears and demons of our trauma.

It is not bad, actually because we all need to cope right? But what is bad is that we delude ourselves that we can run away from it, that if we bury it, it will just die and it will leave us alone. No, it doesn't work that way. Eventually, it will come out of the deepest pit, haunting us, confronting us, cornering us until we are face to face with it again. We are now being asked, are we going to run again or are we going to finally face it?

This is the life cycle of trauma, it can be as old as our life. Some people are so sensitive that trauma even started from the womb, they felt it right away. Some trauma started as early as childhood, conditioning from our primary caregivers, abuse or mishandling from them, manipulations and subtle controls. Those trauma that are as old as us, existing with us even from infancy, even from childhood when most of our basic senses and knowledge began developing.

So yes, I guess the only real way to face our trauma is to finally find peace within ourselves that this time I am fully resolved and whole-heartedly committed to sort out my baggage and my issues, I may not know how to handle the pain all the time but I am open to it and I am not running away from it. Building sustainable routines, methods and resolutions can help us to go on with small steps into the right path of recovery.

There are ways and outlets to cope with our trauma, like music, art, being with people who has gone through the same pains and fears, writing or doing volunteer work for the benefit of other people who need assistance.

There will be bad days, there will be down days, dark days and even time when we just want to abandon the path of healing our trauma, but I pray even for myself that we stay committed and fully resolved to our decision. In our path to healing, we really touch others lives in very meaningful ways. We really can open wonderful affinities with a lot of people who are also finding or following their path to healing. Just open our hearts, not just our eyes, they are around us. They are also like fireflies trying to lit up the darkness. A group of fireflies can really light up a considerable amount of space and they even emit some warmth that can touch many hearts.

I really wish we find the undying flame of our faith within ourselves and the deep well of our hope, it is all within us, to heal, to recover and help others in their path to healing too.

Writing Prompt: A letter from Persephone to her friends above (20211215)

Writing Prompt: A Letter from Persephone to her friends

Dear friends,

Hello from the dark under. What can I say, it is bone chilling here as days passed by and the cold is threatening to become frost, ready to turn anything liquid and flowing into solid ice. Freezing. Frozen. Ice rock solid.

Much like the silence of this realm, too eerily silent that you can almost touch it. There are days when I want to find a solution on how to melt the ice, but a simple flame wouldn't stand a chance in the tall consuming ice mountain, it is even too foolish to think to try.

Well, I have been alone more and more in this realm since I returned. He has been busy all the time as usual, busy with all the things happening in the never ending cycle of life in this realm, His realm. He is always somewhere else, doing other stuff to keep the place running smoothly. As for me, I am also busy trying to learn a lot about his rhythm, his cycle, his moods, his reactions and so many other things closely related to him. Like his space which is a very empty one, a place where noone stays all the time aside from the sitting space where he stays most of the time when he is 'home'. The space is devoid of any embellishment, it is empty, like a minimalist designed space, full of white space suspended on a polished floor. The walls are empty too, not any picture or painting hanging from its wooden finished surface, but there is a big window, looking out to a garden, with many plants and trees, though the window is not open, no wind can enter from the outside, it is like a one way mirror, we can see from the inside but the outside cannot see us. I occupy a big space on the floor, across from his 'workstation'. Even in a shared space, we are still sitting opposite from one another, we 'see' each other from a distance.

If I have been writing all about him and if you have sensed that my point of view is just all about him and his personal space, that it feels so limited and claustrophobic, it is because I can't venture outside of his space. I am confined in his space/room, I am not permitted outside. The door is heavily locked and only he holds the key. Yes, it seems like I am tied to this empty room, with no company and noone to talk to. He is away all the time so I am just quietly waiting for him to come home or I am just busying myself with reading or writing or doing my own stuff.

Okay, I don't wait for him all the time as I have my own stuff too. Yes, I can still work too. It is just like I am there up above but I am not really there because I am really in the underworld. I am sorry for not having the right words to explain it, it sounds so simplistic and funny actually, but I need more time to process what I am doing so I can explain how I am really doing and faring down below.

But if I can give some glimpses of how my day is in this confined space in this big realm, just picture that I am on the floor still wearing my veil because it is so cold, and I'm doing my stuff as efficiently as I would have done it from above but of course with more interruption because He comes as He pleases any time of the day and when He drops by, I need to pay him all my attention.

Okay, as a tradition I have somehow revealed some secrets of our weird lifestyle to you my dear friends before and here goes some more. Well he might get a bit flustered but it is my diary anyway so it is my choice, here one thing about our lifestyle, ours is governed by a different flow of time, we don't have the usual 24/7 just like above. Just like when you travel to another country and you have to adjust your watch because you have crossed timelines, that's how it is here. The night is endless, but the moon will help you count the days and cycles of this world.

Also, another one is that He is sweet but demanding and his observation skills are out of this world. Even when He is far away from this empty room, He knows every movement and every small gesture, very sensitive and very attuned.

However, everyone is this realm knows this but it is my privilege to let everyone know that He is a hard worker, intense and involved in every step of the way. He is very methodical and committed to His duties.

Anyways, I am keeping this letter short again.

I wish for everybody to stay safe and warm during this cold season.

With all my love and affection,

Persephone

Writing Prompt: Persephone's diary entry on alchemy of saving the body

I am talking to you now from a space deep in the sea, while I sit lotus position from the seafloor.

The sunlight barely touched the space around me. This is a space deep and dark and cold, full of beings living in the shadow, they who have adjusted themselves in the dark, their visions are as precise as those beings living above, in the light. They are magical beings, they are just shadow selves. I sometimes glimpse them, but they are too sensitive that they easily hide from view, making themselves at peace in the invisible realm, safely tucked behind their protective veil.

I too know the balm that this protective veil offers.

Everyone living in this deep dark part of the world understands the importance of veil. Like Hades' mythical cap of invisibility, it is a valuable protection. Because they who easily bleed can bleed and bleed, eternally, even with just one unintentional light pinprick. I can never fully explain how sensitive they are, but believe me, they are deeply deeply sensitive.

I am here to address something.

It is my moment of profound understanding that the old has started to unravel, to break down, to dissolve and alas no more. And it breaks my heart. Together with the dissolution of the old, I am also losing the meaning of many hard earned bench marks that have defined my life. For example, the definition of success, the definition of achievement, somehow the definition that the old norms have set for me. I am in the midst of destruction, in a more intense and profound level, where the structures before were merely just shadows or illusions now. They looked so solid before, but now, they were reduced to dust, here now it is just an empty space.

It has come to my consciousness that if I want to keep my sanity I have to save myself from those fallen structures, I have to dig, dig and dig deeper still to recover myself and with the self that will emerge, so should new definitions of these important benchmarks that I have adopted blindly into my inner being. The old is dead, it is poisonous to keep retaining it inside, it will eat my insides and kill the last living cells of me if I don't remove it. It is like an absurd movie where the soul is saving the physical body and the soul should know the inner parts, the hidden, from the outer parts which will be the one shown in the physical realm.

It is the time when the soul should rescue the physical body. The soul is the surgeon, the physical body is almost dying, ingesting poison after poison. The soul can touch the physical body, it is possible, but no words can explain how. But I have seen it. It is really possible.

I am not sure whether I have this profound insights now because my travel to the Underworld is nearing. My cyclical visit to His realm is almost going to start now. The long procession to his kingdom is going to start anytime soon, I can feel it in my bones. I can hear his voice clearer and clearer each day. Time for me to be with Him soon.

But before I go to Him, I need to redefine a lot of what I used to believe for the old is no more, but the wound it inflicted would never heal easily. It is a wound that one will carry in the heart for a long long time, almost for eternity.

To have witnessed, felt and imbibed something so deeply lonely and profound is enough to send one into an asylum, one would wish to not feel anymore, to numb the pain, to deny the almost inhuman emotions related to it. Just like the shadow beings I mentioned earlier, they are as deeply sensitive in those vibrations.

I will continue walking this universe of grief, the familiar silence and darkness, isolation, but I know I will re-evaluate the meaning of success, achievement, wealth, and those that we were blindly lead to pursue in the material world.

Indeed the darkness and silence in this universe is not as frightening as it was before, maybe I am learning to adjust, who knows. I am tightly holding on to my veil of protection in this journey, because we who exist in the shadow don't know what kind of vibration will life throw at us at any moment.

I do hope you will also keep your veil of protection around your body all the time.

Are you going there too?

Grief, such deep sorrow
Sometimes it is so deep, it makes me want to just pack up and go back up where it is safer and brighter
But grief is a part of me, it is not something I can cut from myself and throw away
It's been here with me since I learned to think about my thinking process
It's been here with me since I cried my first tears
It's been here with me since I breathed in the moist air
It's been here with me since my first heartbeat

Grief is the twin emotion of all my other emotions
for example
I am happy, but therein lies grief at the other end of the smile
I am fulfilled, but at the other side, grief is just waiting to spring up again
I am validated, but grief is just stepping up its own game
I am so alive, but the smell of grief is there just like how death can penetrate even the tightest of lids

but interestingly, what is grief's twin emotion?
When I am grieving, do I feel grief in the shadow?
When I am in deep sorrow, do I sense grief around the corner?
When I am sharply pained, is grief going to be the other end?

It's difficult to say
but right now, it seems grief is all enveloping
somehow whole on its own
dark and inescapable

Is there salvation from grief?
Or is grief the major theme of my life?

But in darkness, I continue to walk, clutching faith tighter in my heart
I continue walking in the universe of grief.

Let me share some quotes today

I was really going to post about a quote from Gerard Butler, my favorite Phantom. You know, Gerry, he is sexy, deep and he exudes that Phantom charisma in him even when he is not playing the part anymore. This ever elusive bachelor (swoon) convinced a lot of POTO fans that even without proper voice lesson training, a really talented guy who can dramatize his darkness and passion with charm and flair in front of the audience can land the most complicated character ever to grace the theater/movies. If you could listen to his raw vocal performance in YouTube for the Phantom of the Opera then you will understand what I am talking about.

But yes, I was looking for Gerry's quote however, I came across an article praising Joaquin Phoenix's The Joker performance. I haven't seen the film yet, but I am a fan of Joaquin ever since Gladiator. The review talks about paradigm shifts on anti-hero becoming more understood, and even justified in his dark behavior. Anyways, this is the quote that I was looking for, imagine this was delivered with lots of passion and intensity by Joaquin.

Anyways, I was gathering some materials for this post that I come across this sentence

The society's failure to nurture a healthy masculine

Yeah, that...

Also I include this in my 2-decade research: the toxic masculinity

Why do we forget that men are also suffering? I want to deep dive into this pool too, but one at a time.

Also, who wasn't surprised by the big announcement of the philanthropic couple billionaire Melinda and Bill Gates. It must be difficult to go on their separate ways after 27 years together, but of course, there is a system in their relationship where Bill gets to do what he wants from time to time, now I am thinking about Melinda. Was she also allowed to do what Bill does? Does Melinda want to have extra affairs too? If the other one does it, does it follow that the other must do it too, for the sake of equality? What if the behavior of the other is not the same as that of partner? Will we call it equality too?

Well, those are very personal questions and we don't really know what their set-up as a couple is/was, so we have to respect their privacy. But one quote really caught my attention, it was an interview with Melinda about her own foundation for women empowerment.

Okay, now time for self-reflection as we enter another new moon cycle.

Laters again my dear readers.

Moods #11

Okay, I feel like I need to clarify this post
The books I am talking about are the books that I have been collecting and researching and printing on my own because it is hard to find these titles in the bookstores nowadays
I have actually formally subscribed to Scribd bec this website has a lot of books that I need right now
And these books, though hard to find in bookstores and libraries online can be found in Scribd, so I don't mind the monthly fees, as long as I get my hands into hard-to-find titles

And what I mean by new books being given to me, it is the feeling that I get when I have these printed copies bound in our local bookbinding shop
The staff in this bookbinding shop are very helpful and they really do a great job
So far, I have five books bound in our local bookbinding shop
I have more than 30 titles that I am planning to have printed and bound within this year
So, seriously, this is the kilig factor ^^

I have mentioned before that I am committing myself to 2-decades research, yes and this right now is the materials gathering phase. And boy, do I have a lot of materials!
I need to sort them out actually, so I have to update my book list from time to time
So far, the rough titles of my research topic are as follows

(1) Divine Feminine ~ I have titles by the great Joseph Campbell and Karen Tate
(1.5) Lifestyle of women in antiquity and early civilizations ~ Stephanie Lynn Budin, Judith Weingarten
(2) Eleusinian Mysteries ~ I have titles from Carol Pearson, Jean Shinoda Balen
(3) Histories of Sexuality ~ Of course its Michel Foucault, and then Stephen Garton
(4) Plutonians ~ From the perspective of Astrology in Psychoanalysis
(5) Hades Moon ~ Same as above
(6) Psychoanalysis ~ Jung, Freud and Jacques Lacan

These are my titles so far and I have to add some more but I am busy right now so I will update this when I have time
I just really want to make it clear that these books are my treasures right now

A project and a commitment

“That’s how Yubaba controls you... by stealing your name." - Haku, Spirited Away

When I was younger, I heard that naming people, pets, things or other possessions is very important. It was a kind of tradition passed on in my family especially when we got pets. Most of the pets we had were accidental, these pets chose us, not the other way around. The past pets we had were: kittens, birds, rabbits, puppies, I remember we didn't name these pets yet when other family member haven't seen them. So it was important that they were recognized and accepted first before we name them.

We usually based the names of these pets on their weird characters or their physical characteristics. There were names like: mingming, B1 and B2, porgitania, ali etc. Years passed, and I still hold naming of things and people very important. For example, for possessions, I name them depending on their use: for my phones, usually they have two names: Hermes Cadmus etc. For my usb they are a bit more elaborate like: Calligeneia. For my camera: Cleopatra. Of course, my laptop has a name. Also, my diary has names too.

Well, actually the point of my post is that I have made up my mind that I won't name anyone near my living space or anyone I treat important, (or anything) carelessly. Which brings me to the importance of etymology. I was told by my friends that most of the name I used are either from Greek Mythology or other forms of gods/goddesses of the ancient world. Yeah, I am guilty of that. But also, I am expanding my horizons in naming objects or people, that's why my research now involves a lot about world literature on deities and heroes.

Also, yeah, I have a long list of research topics that I am starting now. I feel that it will take a long time of research, as I have a lot of questions in my life right now. But I am just beginning to collect a lot of information by looking at many books and of course printing them. I feel like this research journey will cover 2 decades, something that I really have to commit myself into. I am actually excited, and I commit to report my research and realizations in this blog, because I want to update you my dear readers about what I have been discovering and learning.

I hope you will join me in this very long journey and perhaps we can learn together as we follow this great quest of search for truth and answers. I will definitely put out some tags so you can follow me into these different topics that I am diving into.
