The English rendition not necessarily a faithful translation of the lyrics of the song, was sung around 1968, same melody but very very different lyrics. The original song was called a Russian Romance Song entitled The Road is Long, sung around 1925-1926.

It must be my hormones, but whenever I click the mezzo-soprano Marie-Anne Izmajlov videos, I just really cry. Tears just keep on coming and coming. Must be her powerful voice, presence, interpretation, she just blows me away.

Anyways, I need to grab a tissue or hankies whenever I listen to or watch her perform, bravo!
