The Moon is the Timekeeper part 2 |
Today's visual journal is full of circles, representing cycles, which always have beginning, middle and end. As we all know, everything starts from a seed, may it be physical or emotional or psychological, possibly spiritual. Seed in the darkness, deep down, bottom moist darkness. That's where everything starts. And of course, once planted ~ be it in the rich earth, in the heart, in the soul, in the mind, in the psyche ~ the seed with all the elements coming together, or affinities if you may, will grow.
Growth is the physical manifestation of seed, it can take up form, like a plant, tree, the structure of the house, anything that exists, it has a form, it has a shape, it is with scope and limitation, thus it has edges and corners.
Then of course, growth is subject to time, in Greek myths, time is a male. He is a male god, called Chronos, he devours his own children, in mythological speak, it means all his children will die because all forms have to end. Before death, growth will have to go through many stages - birth, struggles of existence and then of course the decay, eventually there is death.
Death is not the ending. It is merely another stage in the cycle of existence.
Beyond death is formlessness.
Then, in the formlessness, there will be a moment where the seed will be conceived again, thus beginning another cycle, another existence.
But of course, as I have touched upon the topic of Greek myth, there is Chronos as mentioned earlier, then there is Kairos, the other dimension of time. Chronos is the quantitative part of time while Kairos is the qualitative part of time. Kairos is the mystical, higher expression/dimension of time, the right moment, the opportune time, as they say in religious world the 'god-appointed time'.
So, in my visual journal we can see the sun ruling the upper (light) world and the moon in its varied stages. Sun and moon have been used since the ancient period to measure time ~ sun being male and moon, the female. The female moon, thought to be connected to the underworld, more attuned in the darkness, the timekeeper in the endless blackness. Further, in the visual journal, we can see the ship sailing through the ocean, a woman with flowers walking continuously, leaving us with just a glimpse of her heavenly bouquet, which I love to call the bouquet of grief.
The woman's ink, quill, books, clock and dark flowers welcome us in the foreground of the visual journal, and then to the right bottom part, we can see an eight petaled flower.
The universe is huge and it is governed by so many ancient rules, natural laws and the undefinable magic and mystery that is beyond human knowledge. Let's have faith in living our lives.
A lovely new moon to all of us.
